The river is a tributary of the Buriganga Turag tip, a major river in Bangladesh. The river originates in the Turag Bangshi, the latter one of the largest tributaries of the river flows through Dhaleshwari Gazipur District and binds to the Buriganga in Mirpur in Dhaka. It is navigable for ships throughout the year.
