Open dumping and dead animals were thrown in the open space also pollute the air. To minimize air pollution, we must raise awareness among the public. Newspapers, radio, and TV can play an important role in this respect. Strict laws must be imposed so that unfit vehicles may not ply on the road. Buses, trucks, and cars use petrol and diesel oil. These too emit smoke. All these kinds of smoke pollute the air. - What is air?
- What is air pollution?
- How is clean and polluted air?
- How is air polluted?
- How do we become
- Why should we keep our environment free from pollution?
Answer: Air pollution means the contamination of air by smoke, harmful gases, dust, etc. Air is a very important element of our environment. No creature can live without air. It is the life-giving force. Clean air is essential for life but polluted air is very harmful. Air can be polluted in many ways. The most common agent that pollutes air is smoke. Smoke is produced when we cook food, burn bricks and refuse. It is also produced when we melt pitch for road construction AIM. Innumerable buses, trucks, and cars plying in big cities use petrol, diesel, and oil. When these fuels are burnt; they create smoke and pollute the air. Mills and factories in large industrial areas also cause serious air pollution. Railway engines and powerhouses also pollute the air. However, it is really very difficult to prevent air pollution, but it is possible to reduce its quantity. We can make less use of motor vehicles and avoid the use of vehicles older than 20 years. Again, we can try to increase the use of solar energy, which does not pollute the air. Moreover, we have to stop cutting down trees in large numbers because trees absorb the poisonous carbon gases from the atmosphere and keep the environment good. So, to ensure a healthier and happier life we must control air pollution.
