Answer: On the 21st of February, people get up from bed very early in the morning. They go to the Shahid Minar barefooted. They usually put on panjabis and pajamas with a black badge on their breast or shoulder. They go on along the road with the patriotic song “Aamar Bhaier Raktey Rangano Ekushey February. Aamikii Bhulitey Paree” in memory of the martyrs. The people pay homage to the martyrs by offering floral wreaths to the Shahid Minar with profound love. People also pray for the salvation of the departed souls who laid down their lives to establish Bangla as the state language of the then Pakistan.
